I thought I would start writing a blog as it seems to be the thing to do today when one is away from one normal surroundings. (Also my daughter Kathryn suggested it might be a good idea). My goal is to update this at least once a week.
We are all back for 2nd semester of the school year at CCI. George, Toby and I and our good friend Christine Thomson (who is teaching this semester at CCI) left last Saturday to come back to Italy. Christine’s husband Terry drove us to the airport. As we all checked in and had our luggage sent off, we then went to get Toby to his destination before the flight when we were told that we could not take the dog on this flight. You can imagine the looks on our faces. The airplane that came over from Italy was changed from the original one. This airplane did not have the capacity for live animals. In order not to have a frozen Toby when we arrived at the other end, I stayed back with him and had our flight rescheduled to Monday. Fortunately Terry stayed so he drove Toby and I home.
We are all now here and settled in. Toby enjoys going to school in the mornings with George and enjoys spending the time with the students during breakfast, hoping for crumbs to fall to the ground. He comes home to nap in the afternoons. The weather has been quite cool and rainy but not as cold as at home. I’m continuing with my courses. George and I enjoyed Saturday by taking Christine around to show her some of the local sites. Saturday night we got together with the other teachers and played poker, usually our monthly event (I lost this time).
Time to go and take Toby for a walk. Until next week...
